Hello,
In version 2.43-1.win64, if I hover over the flag icon under the Peers tab in the Transfers window, the country name associated with the flag appears.

However, that feature no longer works after upgrading.  This is true for upgrading to versions 2.48.1.win64, 2.47.1.win64, and 2.46.1.win64.

Have you deprecated this feature?  It's not essential, but I hate having features disappear without warning.  I also feel more a part of a global community when I can associate country names with the flags.

I forgot to mention that I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

it works in linux. maybe a windows thing.

It works OK (as before) using Tixati v2.48 with Ubuntu 16.10.

Thanks Pete!  I suppose it could be specific to Windows (7).
In the meantime, I figured out that
Layout->Select Columns->Peers View tab->(toggle on) Location
gives me the country name in a column, so I can still feel like I'm part of the global community. :)

I can concur with Pete my Win 8.1 64-bit does not have this behaviour. I have Location column as well. And the tooltip for the flag matches that, for each peer :/

Then most likely I've done or configured something wrong.  It's just strange because the hover (tooltip) works in 2.43, then I upgrade, and it doesn't.  And whenever I downgrade back to the old version, the hover works again.

I'll keep looking for answers.  In the meantime, having the column with the country name is a very acceptable workaround.

Just thinking of other tooltip settings... do you have the system tray on/off with /without tooltips??
Do you have any tooltip pop up when you mouseover the transfer (it should show the folder)? Do tooltips show in Channels/users for their status, and ##

System tray tooltips work fine.

I've never had the destination folder name/path pop up when hovering over a transfer, even in 2.43.  Is it supposed to?

Haven't used the Channels yet so I don't know about that.

However, in Tixati, the tooltips show when I hover over the icons for DHT, Contacts, Settings and Help.

It's possible my folders show because I turned everything on with "full editable paths" so I can see what goes where...
If you want to verify stuff, make a new tixati folder (mkdir "testing")
Put the 2.48 exe in it with the filename " tixati_portable_mode.txt" just make a blank file. Then open the exe. That will open portable mode.
This will say portable IN the splash screen when you boot it up.
If this instance does not show the tooltip you expect it is something outside tixati :/
(BACKUP your .dat files first incase the program does not open in portable mode so you can have a backup)

ive got tooltips working fine on win 10. so it looks like a win 7 thing.

Any chance to test and update?

Sorry for the delayed response.  I thought I had some sort of email notification set up for this Forum, but I guess not.  I can't find any configuration options for Forum user accounts.

I just upgraded to the latest version (2.4.9 x64) and I am still not getting the country name in a "tooltip" when I hover.

The workaround with the "location" column is almost as good as having the tooltip, so I'm content.

Hey, you're brilliant!  I just downloaded the portable version of 2.4.9 and ran it from a different directory.  I picked a magnet torrent to download and found that the location/country name shows up when I hover.

So now I know it's something in my profile/configuration/etc.  I'll try doing an uninstall, erasing all of tixati's directories and registry entries, and then re-install.

With a portable and the production its just a thing about check mark ON one at a time, to see where it fails, then deleting those. NO need for a full erase :/

I just wanted to let you know I didn't blow you off.  Also, I wanted to thank you for your feedback.  For some reason, forum admin will not post the reply I wrote and of course there's no way for me to find out why.  As far as I know the forum rules are:

-Keep a civilized tone
-Stay on topic
-References to copyrighted material or torrent sites will be removed

And I didn't violate any of them.  So there must be more to it.

I have had entire sections of posts removed. Mostly circulating around "website" links. Many times you can't even get links to the tixati.com website to reference/help. Is it possible you received a mail or something on your account they explained the situation?

If you need more help, keep posting your findings. ALSO 2.51 came out. Check the changelog/portable to see if your settings somehow work. Or if an upgrade would help :)
Honestly I only solution would be you have upgraded so many times that you have a STUCK old "null" setting somewhere since it appears to work on the blank portable. UNFORTUNATLY I have no clue which of the settings sections are where that tooltip thing is so you could paste the portable NEW into your regularly WORKING OLD settings :(
