Tixati v2.48 installation folder

Hello. I noticed a minor problem during the installation process of this new version. I downloaded the 64bit version and the default folder for installing it is "X:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)". Until previous versions it was "X:\PROGRAM FILES", of course.
Thanks for your attention.

On 64 bit OS that's the difference of install location for your native 64 bit apps vs your windows syswow64 (windows 32 on windows 64)

I did an situ upgrade from the previous version to 2.48 on Win10 64 bit and it is installed in c:\Program Files.
The size of my C:\Program Files\tixati\tixati.exe is 35,137,272 bytes.
Check if your size is the same.
I wonder if you might have accidentally downloaded the 32 bit version which. I would assume that the two .exe files would have slightly different filesizes.

When you're worried about file integrity size isn't always useful measure (use a hash, but since Tixati team refuses my efforts to publish that info version to version)
BUT: 32bit-35.7 MB (37,499,640 bytes)
64bit-33.5 MB (35,137,272 bytes)
That's my 2.48 Windows folder for verification :)

Hi, guys! It's the 64bit version for sure. It has the same filesize than yours. But again, I'm not complaining. I love Tixati! Recently gave a modest contribuition to this wonderful project. Just wonder what happened...

So to confirm your sequence of events.
You downloaded the new 2.48 install -win64.
You tried to install it.
It told you it wanted to install into "Program Files (x86)".
The changelog mentions nothing about changing the install routines or folders :/
(Can you maybe go to the old 2.47 install folder under c:\Program Files\Tixati\ and do a right click -> Properties and paste the filesize)

Well, I clicked so fast in "continue" button that I only understood that the location had changed when was too late... The hand is faster than the eye. And the installer removed the old C:\PROGRAM FILES\TIXATI" and its content, so I cannot tell the file size of version 2.47.

Well, I uninstalled v2.48 and reinstalled v2.47 64bit. And then I remembered what happened. V2.47 64bit frozen on my computer (as it just did this time). I don't know why. So, I uninstalled it and installed v2.47 32bit. And when I updated to v2.48 64bit the installer used the previous installation folder C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\TIXATI. So, end of mistery... Sorry to bother you, guys. :(
Thanks for your help.

OK this is good, surprisingly.
When Tixati starts up, especially the first time on a new version it usually takes quite a long time.
This is because many versions the dev team re-arrange the internal databases for your transfers and settings (the .dat files)
Depending on the number of transfers loaded and the disk you're loading from this can be anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes (on my second hard drive with a full bus on my 64 bit 2 GiB RAM system) ... possibly longer if running an network / external / flash usb key.
Especially if you run remote/network shares try turning OFF the SETTINGS -> restart active transfer on startup.
Yes there are problems when you switch from 64- to 32-bit and back again. I had to go to a backup when I tried 32bit after running 64 exclusively (I only use portable) I was left with a partial .dat file.
Unfortunately there is no way to remove the freeze on start unless you setup a RAMdisk or some other near-instant access.
To find out the size you need, go to your \Tixati folder with the .dat files, and do "dir *.dat"
This should include .lastgoodok.dat and .dat (same sizes as running instance, which are .dat.new and .dat) Essentially you need 2x as much space as your channels.dat and core.dat (for comparison my 300K shares is 140 MiB for channels.dat, and 7K transfers is 350 MiB for core.dat)
So I would need 2x490 or almost 1 gig of my 2 gig in this system. So I try not to close tixati that often, and when i do, making sure Tixati is the ONLY thing using the disks / network at the time.
