With the release of the desktop bridge converter program, you can now convert legacy win 32 apps to uwp apps without any code changes. The advantages of this include:
1. Automatic updating from the store.
2. Complete removal of all registry entries and any other files created automatically by windows, this prevents using third party cleaners to remove stray registry.
3. Windows store authentication and trusted software always.
4. Reviews in the store itself.
5. Easy interaction with the user base.
Please even Kodi recently embraced UWP and it's advantages, hopefully we get a good torrent application on the store.

The only location to get the official releases is tixati.com
(You can assume byte-copy torrent matches are equivalent, since... bittorrent)
There is no reason for distribution outside a single site unless you're popular/hated enough to need hosting due to flood/dos/malware
I think Transmission recently went the hosted route because they didn't have resources to lock down those avenues. Tixati is available as the same EXE for 32/64 bit OS for Windows and Linux. How much simpler can you get (you can search for 2.47 portable in Tixati or download from the site)
