4GB limit on core2.dat ?

by Guest on 2016/09/21 05:10:09 PM
I'm using Tixati v2.44 Alpha-6 on Windows x64.

I'm having many crashes on load.  Then I have to revert to the lastloadok which is annoying since I lose everything since the last load which could be many days...

I've noticed that the crashes occur when the core2.dat file is near 4GB.  For example, if the core2.dat is size 4,190,376 it loads OK.  When it is 4,201,414 tixati crashes on startup.

Since these file sizes are pushing 4GB I'm wondering if on load there is some overhead to the file and it pushes past a 4GB limit causing the crash?

switch to partition file systems which do not have 4gb limits

The problem isn't in saving, it's on reading at startup.  The file system is NTFS.

send your core file (one that crashes) to the devs with an explanation of whats going on. support at tixati dot com

If your sizes are in bytes, that should be OK. If its in KiB then you may have a problem.
I'm not sure of any email service that handles gigabyte file attachments.
Are you sure its pausing because of loading the core??
If you email support and ASK how they want the file, they may just tell you to make a torrent... for a file that large.
In the meantime, or to help, you can use Process Monitor or Resmon (built into Task Manager) to look at the tixati.exe process...
... If you have a bad settings, you could see if IMPORT/EXPORT for just the transfers ... comes out smaller. .tixaticonfig files are not exact copies of the .DAT files.

See what the devs have to say.

use the import/export feature in the settings and export your tixati and send that to the devs. support at tixati dot com

if your core or export file is too large, upload them somewhere else and put a link here.

Still think its a filesystem issue. If the OS you're running allows it, move your Tixati to an NTFS formatted partition. What OS are you running?
That client must hang every 15 minutes when saving the incremental DAT files ><

It seems this issue was fixed in the latest version (2.45).  Are you able to confirm this?

So far so good with 2.47-1.  I will run a few tests to try and break it :)

No crashes with 2.47.  Thank you developers!
