Sharing

I am new to Tixati.

I am interested in the P2P aspect and have looked thru the help file but it seems mostly focused on the download side. I am interested in the source side and was wondering if there is any information available that concentrates on setting up a share and how to control it.

i don't know what you mean but i'll answer about sharing
Sharing in Tixati is not like in eMule or other p2p softwares. You can share what you download right clicking on each category (also "all transfers" so you will share everything) and then share files in channels
This is a useless feature because you can share (and search) only for tixati's users that join channels.

It would be nice if the share (and search) would be available also for DHT so we could find files also from users that have utorrent, vuze, qbittorrent etc...

How do you think the RIAA catches you? They setup bots to harvest or sit on all the INFOHASHES. Or even setup their own malformed torrents thereby catching you "in the act" trying to download.

Personally I think the share tab is highly useful.
##mirror allows you as you say to copy categories, or GLOBAL MOTD to help people out or spread the word. You can use the minimal markdown syntax to give context, or simply wall-of-text
The developers appear to believe in giving the user the choice. Unfortunately for your "need" about SHARE and search, there needs to be a larger marketshare for Tixati so people add to the communal knowledge.
