HELP!!! Ratio Reset Every Time That I Log off

by Guest on 2016/09/14 02:42:25 AM
Howdy!! Pardon my ignorance on this as I am relatively new to Tixati. Let me start by saying that thus far I have found this to be one of the MOST spectacular torrent clients that I have found. The customization alone, makes it worth this "issue" that I have found...

...Almost!!!

Every time that I shut-down my compute OR if I simply EXIT Tixati, then turn it back on, my "Ratio" on each and EVERY P2 website that I visit resets my Sharing (Seeding') ratio resets to "Zero." This happens to EVERY P2 site that I seed with.

EVERY ONE OF THEM!!!

Without exception.

When I shutdown or Restart, the website records a "0" seed-ratio. Now, with SOME sites, this is a serious problem. Problem enough to get one expelled from a site.

Am I "missing" something or do I have a "newb" stumble going on?

Is there a "setting" that I am missing? Is there a radio button that I have inadvertently turned "off" or "on" maybe? I am hoping that I have simply "oopsed" somewhere along the line.

I like this program SO much and it would virtually kill me to have to switch Back uTorrent or BitTorrent again. Especially after the "freedom" that Tixati allows...

PLEASE help, as this may get me kicked-off of a few sites...

Thank You, for your time and consideration on this matter. So much so, in advance.  -EB

what version of tixati and what OS are you running?

the only stat you can clear is on the home page, the bytes counter. and i dont think sites can see that.

might be a problem with the sites you use, keeping your stats properly.

be sure to try the alpha and see if it still happens.

Oooof! My bad! LOL Yeah, I SHOULD know better...

Thanks for your RE on this. It's much appreciated.

I am running Win7 and V-2.43 X64

Yeah, I would get the whole "site" thing but it is happening to EVERY site, without exception. That is why I've come here.

A friend of mine, is running the same config. (Win & V#) and belongs to two of the same sites. He is not having these "issues" as I am. : P

I can definitely run 2.44 but was hoping that I had inadvertently switched something either "off" or "on."

Or that MAYBE this was something that others had noticed as well...

I will try the V2.44 trick and see if that doesn't help. Unless, of course you have thought of something else, since.

I will check back once (heh! maybe twice) before I do the 2.44 thing.

Thank you again, for your time & consideration on this.

Each time your client updates, there is a new event=started event
This tracks your current "session" on the tracker.
The ratio should not be affected, simply updated about your personal profile... Because Upload:Download is the standard, you should continue to see your stats for that site.
Unfortunately I can find nowhere listed where your Global stats in Tixati are stored. However this information is also under HOME window of Tixati. This would also be for each session of Tixati (double click, run the executable)
by Guest on 2016/09/17 09:39:15 AM
Okay... Again, thank you for your RE on this and more especially, your time. : )

I have clicked on the "Home" tab and I see nothing that says "run the executable" ...y'all have to pardon my "newbness" to the "inner workings" of the clients. : P I never really delved into that part of the P2P thing. My bad!

Never the less, I see nothing regarding running an executable or even an .exe button to click...  The ONLY radio buttons and changeable options that I am able to see, are the "Reset Byte Counters" and "Change Port" buttons. NOTHING regarding a "run the executable" button though...

As stated, I am under the "home" tab and I DO see the stats. Everything is plugging and chugging along.

Are you suggesting that I record these stats, close Tixati down and restart her. To see if everything resets?? IDK... though, the "TOTAL" stats look PRETTY darned high for a three-day run (which is the last time that I turned my computer off.) The TOTAL OUT at this juncture is 18+ Billion K. Even with Fiber Optics, I don't think that I can push that in THREE days... : P  Who knows though? IS this possible?? With at TOTAL Upload Ratio of 9142. I don't know if that says anything to you or not. : P

I can do this, however if you are suggesting this.

Also a tidbit of information. The "TOTAL" ratio on the torrent's page IS cumulative. It does NOT "reset" to "0" when I shut her down. THAT counter keeps a running tally, no matter how many times that I shut Tixati down and/or restart my computer. This function seems to be working just fine.

Again, it is on EVERY site that I am a member to, that resets the counter to "0" when I shutdown my machine and/or turn Tixati off...  ...???

It has me BAFFLED as all h#ll!!

Anyway, back to the "run the executable" suggestion that you mentioned. Would you please clarify this statement? I would seriously appreciate it and would be happy to comply, if I only knew what you are referring to. : )

Thanks again. Hopefully I'll hear from you soon. : )   -EB

try going to setting->event logging and turn on 'log detailed tracker messages' and press the 'reset all objects' button under the transfers section.

now look at the 'event log' tab on a torrent that is loosing your ratio.

try starting and stopping a torrent and see what the log displays.
by Guest on 2016/09/18 12:24:03 PM
Okay...

'log detailed tracker messages' WAS, already selected.

I hit the reset button. Will see what happens from here...

I will start and stop seeded files individually. See if that resets the "counters," or not, on the websites.

PS just to clarify, it's not on just one or two Shares. It happens to ALL Shares that I am seeding. Weather it is 12 or 220, does not matter. : P When I shut-down they all reset back to zero, on sites.

I have done as you have suggested.

Will check sites to see what has happened. : ) Hopefully resetting that will have done the trick. : )  -EB

EDIT:  Okay, SAME thing is STILL happening... When I turn Tixati OFF, the counter on site resets to 0.0 Seed ratio.

BUT when I "STOP" the seed and then "START" again, there is no change on the site.

I did the "reset" thing, above and that did not "help" anything. Nothing has changed. "Problem" still exists. : P

Should I just "upgrade" to newer version??

IDK... this is confusing me, to say the least. : P WHY is this happening? I would hate to have to do an uninstall/reinstall thing as I am seeding, currently, 186 Shares...  Gaaaah!! To have to restart ALL of them... : P NOT looking forward to THAT!! LOL.

Let me know what you think.

Again, thank you for your time and effort in trying to help me sort this out. : ) MUCH appreciated.  -EB

when you shut down your computer is tixati running or have you closed it?

name 1 or 2 of the sites that you are having this problem with. the mods will remove them from your post and send them to the devs.

when you stop and start a torrent what does it say in the 'event log' tab?

when you start tixati, are previously running torrents going or do you manually start them?

when you start a torrent after you first start tixati, what does it say in the 'event log'?

hitting the reset button just makes sure that changes you made will be set.

I would hate to have to do an uninstall/reinstall thing as I am seeding, currently, 186 Shares... Gaaaah!! To have to restart ALL of them... : P

just use the import/export feature in the settings. that way if you ever have to reinstall or upgrade your OS you have a backup tixati to load.

Thanks for all the info guys.

There will be a fix for this in the next alpha release, which should be in a day or two.  https://testing.tixati.com

Okay to RE to all of the Questions I will cut and past them here. Answers will be with "<===="

I will also cut out a lot of the original post just to save space... Here we go:

by Guest on Sun, 18 Sep 2016 17:22:03 GMT
when you shut down your computer is tixati running or have you closed it? <==== BOTH! I have restarted with Tixati running AND have restarted with Tixati closed. No difference.

name 1 or 2 of the sites that you are having this problem with. the mods will remove them from your post and send them to the devs. <===== Gads!! Really?? Okay... (edited by mod - thanks) are two that are my most used...

when you stop and start a torrent what does it say in the 'event log' tab? <====== A LOT!! I can cut and past info but not sure if any of it is "sensitive" or not... it sure LOOKS like it. : P  It will say "Stopping" and then:
[10:54:19 PM] stopping
[10:54:21 PM] tracker announcing [stopped] > http://tracker...

THEN about ten lines of info. If there is another place where I can send the info, I would have no issue in doing so...

As for "Starting" here is what I get:
[10:54:38 PM] starting
[10:54:39 PM] downloading initiated
[10:54:39 PM] tracker announcing [started] > http://tracker...

THEN the same as above but with about fifteen lines of GIGO lol, at least to me... : D

when you start tixati, are previously running torrents going or do you manually start them?  <===== They all automatically startup. I do not have to "manually" do anything with them. Even incomplete DL's will start from where they left off.

when you start a torrent after you first start tixati, what does it say in the 'event log'?  <====== Not sure... I can start one to find out though.

---> and THEN a BOATLOAD of information. NOT sure what is what so I am not posting here. I modified the above with "SITENAME_HERE" where the site name was originally. I also cut short the path above as well. I am not sure if that is actually needed to troubleshoot this. Again, a LOT of "personal" info from what I can tell. I can cut and past to a different, private thread if needed. : ) I just don't want to "dangle" it out here... Ya know?

hitting the reset button just makes sure that changes you made will be set.  <=====  Okay, cool!! Good to know.

I would hate to have to do an uninstall/reinstall thing...

just use the import/export feature in the settings. that way if you ever have to reinstall or upgrade your OS you have a backup tixati to load. <===== Also good to know.

I am not sure if this information will help you figure this out or not. I DID leave out quite a bit of information with the above posts. I mean, when I started the new DL, there was a whole PAGE of information that popped-up.

I mean, it would SEEM that that type of information would be needed... but again, a LOT of it seemed to be "sensitive" and again, I would have no problem sending it somewhere a little more, shall we say... "private?" : ) Again, just sayin'. Ya know??

I am NOT trying to be a wet towel with this. I seriously want to get this fixed. : ) It's about a B!TC# as it stands. Everything resetting to "Zero" when I logoff or shutdown. ESPECIALLY when I have seeded something like a 25GB file 50 times and it all goes --POOF!!-- and I have to start all over. Unless, of course I "delete" it BEFORE I shutdown. But who wants to do THAT?? : P

PLEASE let me know if you have a "fix" for this... I do NOT want to swap to a different Client. THIS one is friggin' SPECTACULAR!!! I love this program. It's an amazing and what looks to be a POWERFUL piece of programming for what it is designed to do. With a LOT of "control" on this end. : ) : )

Again, I hope that my information helps in finding a "solution" to this issue... : ) -EB

Just hang on a few days, a new release is coming that already has this fix...
by Guest on 2016/09/19 11:32:19 PM
if you cant wait for the release try the alpha.

https://testing.tixati.com/
by Guest on 2016/09/20 05:07:29 AM
Nah!! I can wait. : D I am just glad that y'all found a "fix" for this.

I am guessing then, I am not the only person, with this particular "issue" then? LOL. Glad to know that there's not a loose screw, behind my keyboard. : D LOL.

I am also glad that I could have helped, in ANY, small way. : ) Thank you for your prompt replies to this as well. It makes me feel "secure" that y'all are on your game.

That AND the fact that you have an AWESOME product, that is helping LOADS of people. Good on ya!!

Thanks again! : ) -EB
