Error when attempting to download a file into a RAM disk

by Guest on 2016/05/06 02:11:12 PM
This problem occurs on MOST torrents but not all. It is not related to insufficient ram disk size and the problem occurs regardless of the file allocation method used.

I assume the problem can be reproduced a RAM disk created using ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver 2.0.9 available from http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html/  and Tixati 2.38. This is not tested on version 2.37 but version 2.34 certainly doesn't have this problem.

The torrent I used to test the problem is not malformed because uTorrent has no problem consuming it.

Edit: You can test it with the LibreOffice torrent file. http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.1.2/win/x86/LibreOffice_5.1.2_Win_x86.msi.torrent

That torrent worked for me, but I'm using different ramdrive software.
...HOWEVER the speeds I'm getting are beyond awful.

Earlier results:
https://forum.tixati.com/support/1833/

My last speed test was Tixati v2.38 downloading from uT v2.2.1 both using data on the same ramdrive ...couldn't sustain 100 KB/sec under seemingly unhindered conditions! (16 KB piece size was murdering it!)
With another torrent, it could do ~4.5-5 MB/sec. (piece size 4 MB, same data content both times)

qBitTorrent v3.3.3 under the exact same conditions hit in excess of 60 MB/sec. Not sure the exact speed because the single-file (~170 MB size) torrent finished pretty much instantly. I thought it failed at first because on the other BT client I saw peer connected, peer disconnected.
