Auto-Select File by size option - What does it do?

by Bugmagnet on 2016/04/12 05:42:24 PM
I don't really understand what that feature does or the purpose it serves.
auto-select files feature that helps to trim useless files from newly-loaded torrents quickly, and if single file remains, move it into outer download folder

I see the default value is 20... but 20 what? bytes? kbytes? mbytes? I see the max is 100 whatever...

Most importantly, if all files are not selected and downloaded, even these small ones, can the torrent complete and later seed at 100%?

it does just what is says. it automatically turns off useless files(the txt/nfo files that are usually in torrents) and if only one file is left instead of having it download into a folder by itself it moves the file to outer download location.

eg. in downloads folder
RandomTVShowFolder
-file.avi
-file.txt
-file.nfo

with auto, the txt and nfo file will be turned off and the remaining avi file will move from 'RandomTVShowFolder' to downloads folder.

this im not sure about. id guess kbytes

the torrent will complete, but you wont have 100% of torrent, just 100% of files downloaded.

if i have a full season torrent and only download 1 episode, when finished it will show me as complete, as i want no more and have all i want.

It deselects any files in a multi-file transfer that are less than 20% the size of the largest.  (The 20% can be changed in settings.)

Then if there's only one file that makes the cut (very often unless you getting a whole season) it moves that file into the outer transfer location, so you don't have to open a folder within your download folder just to get to a single file.  The file just ends up directly in the download folder.

It's a good feature for dealing with the torrents that have the video file + a bunch of stupid files like downloaded_from_crap_torrent_site.txt and/or sample files or stills.

I'm not sure if this is a client thing or related to this option. I have not tested it with two Tixati clients.
BUT shouldn't if you fully download 1 file, but selectively download the others... the remains of that partial piece still be upload-able??

Just trying to figure out how to finish transfers, with examples of those features. The file I need isn't showing 100% because of the other files beginning or end of it.
