For a download I get this in the Status part of the Trackers tab.
It's an udp tracker.  
The torrent just stays on Fetching meta-info... because obviously something isn't connecting.  
Is the torrent private? I don't know how to see that.

that "fetching" condition will remain for magnet links until you connect with another peer who has the torrent metadata. If there are no seeds or peers for that torrent it will remain in that fetching status.

This has nothing to do with it being a "Private" torrent, but FYI that will be indicated by a padlock icon in the name field.
