[Feature Request] - Multiple Profile settings / Rules

by Guest on 2016/02/29 11:43:12 AM
First of all thanks for all the hard work Devs!

Would it be possible to add a feature, that would allow multiple sets of settings or "Profiles", and some associated "rules".

Usage Case:
Say a USER is a member of various Private Trackers and a Public Tracker.
Both Private Trackers have their own set of rules which must be adhered to.
The USER currently has to modify the individual torrent file properties, e.g remove trackers/disable DHT/on completion move to a different folder etc.

This feature would allow the ability to setup multiple "profiles", with the correct settings for each.

Then, for the "rules",  lets say a .torrent file is automatically loaded from a specific directory, automatically apply profile#1.
If a torrent file is automatically loaded from a different specific directory, automatically apply profile#2.
If a torrent file is "opened with" Tixati, automatically apply profile#3, and so on.

Thank you in advance.

It's already there, try Categories with Capture and Local Files options (enable at Layout > Categories > Sidebar) and Individual Tracker Options (in Settings > Transfers > Trackers).

Thanks for the tip, Pete!

That seems to partially fit my needs, maybe some more options could be added here.

Using your method, I can set a category for torrent files loaded from a specific directory, and set it to 'Constant Seed' and transfer to a specific directory when complete.  I cannot see a way to set items like "PEX Peer Exchange", to 'Inactive', and add a tracker address, on a category by category basis.

Any further tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

If you see a lock icon next to a name, it indicates a 'private' torrent. This means DHT and PEX will not be used for this transfer. This is meant to control access to the swarm via the tracker.

Private torrents have a "private" flag, so that only the tracker is used to obtain IP addresses. This means you don't have to disable PEX or DHT manually for private torrents.

You can't add tracker by category, that's true, but you can use the Individual Tracker Options instead (Settings > Transfers > Trackers). Try Advanced Options tab, you can configure a lot of tracker specific settings there.
