Add old version to Download tab

The link above is from an old question I placed about old versions.  On that question Tixati put links to all the old versions.

What I'd like to see is that old version info up to date and posted at the Tixati download tab which I did not see.

I find that I stay a version or two behind (I'm on 2.28) to avoid any glitches etc that may have been cleared up after release.

The previous reply mentioned that I might be able to find old versions from third parties but that there may be malware problems in seeking them out.

The prior versions are still there, just have to know the name of the file to download them. Usually all this involves is changing a few digits related to the version.

Also, there is a milestone collection available on torrents which includes the most stable versions of the past couple years based on how long they lasted until they were superceded.

Milestones
v1.9615 months
v1.99 7 months
v2.12 3 months
v2.16 2 months
v2.31 2 months
v2.34      ?

search for:  Tixati Milestone Releases (v1.96, 1.99, 2.12, 2.16, 2.31, 2.34)

I would only trust downloading it from Tixati website.

Yes I would prefer just a list under downloads. Just scroll them down the same page.

In looking at the 'favorites' list in the upper post above I don't even see the version I'm using.  Should probably go up to '31 fom 2.28 but it's comfortable for now.

The torrent of milestones consists of just that...  very stable versions of Tixati that lasted at least 6 weeks before being superceded/replaced.

V2.28 didn't last even 2 weeks before it was replaced, by v2.29, which didn't last even 24 hours before a disruptive bug was detected requiring a quick fix as v 2.31.

That version held for nearly 2 months while the next version with major changes was being developed, to be released as v 2.33. As expected, once this general release was made, lots of issues that were not uncovered during the extensive 'alpha' testing became apparent and quick-fix v2.34 was released. Given that 10+ days have passed with I think only a couple new minor? issues being revealed (trackers failing to merge http://forum.tixati.com/support/2292/  and a situation of case sensitivity http://forum.tixati.com/support/2309/  ), v2.34 may well turn out also to have the longevity of the other milestones selected for that torrent collection, unless the DEVs decide on releasing another quick bug-fix version for those and any other minor issues they have become aware of.

As you, I would prefer a page listing links for all prior versions along with the signature keys for linux version verification.  Windows installers are self-verifying.  http://support.tixati.com/Release%20Verification

But there are simple workarounds to download the earlier versions such as the list Zarkbit posted in the thread you mentioned in your original post which provided the links for versions 1.46 to 2.25. Any version after v2.25 is available by copying the URL and changing 1 or 2 digits as needed.

iow, changing the 25 to 33 in http://www.tixati.com/download/tixati-2.25-1.win32-install.exe  becomes http://www.tixati.com/download/tixati-2.33-1.win32-install.exe  .  If you want v2.31, then change the 25 to 31 and download away.

As of 2.31 I have been packing all of the versions together (Linux, Windows, x86, x64) into one torrent. [2.31 is the only one I haven't uploaded to torrent site yet. Going to do that soon.

I post them in the Channels if you use that but I also put them here (modnote: url removed)

Only get stuff from YandereGirl (me) mine are straight from the site I only ask you to seed the version you download but if you seed the whole thing I would be very grateful.

I see some support for the listing and so I'm glad of that.  Here on the site seems more secure with no offense to YanderGirl etc.

As to the longevity and history,  I'm glad there are updates and that the work continues.  But I'm not 'on top of it' all the time if what I have is working.  My needs are pretty simple.

Did the upgrade to 2.33 via the instruction above:  change the number and it seemed to go ok.

ok lon... now that you got that far... v2.34 has been out for 2 weeks now, without any critical issues for most users. v2.33 was a leap ahead, but v2.34 is the bugfix replacement for it

http://www.tixati.com/news/

not clear when v2.34 will be superseded, but now in mass-use for a couple weeks I'd recommend it, esp if you are experiencing any of the problems in v2.33 that were fixed by it.

Ok, I'll go ahead and install 2.34

Still loking for that "window" change where the
Settings window does not show fully in the standard install.

As a Tixati fan I looked at a few of the skins others are using.

My beef with that is: How do you stand it looking at white or blue or some other text on a dark background-- and in _mouse-sized_  typeface?  :-)

Not me.  I have loaded the Firefox tool for text size adjustment upwards.  In Win 7 I've used the metrics option to change the style in that as well.

My request for change in the default was because on my screen, the bottom border of the settings window goes 'below the lower edge of screen.'  That should be an easy fix.

I am up to 2.33 now with no problems showing in my setup.

The described screen problem persists.
