No icon in notification area

by Guest on 2016/02/04 03:58:06 PM
Using Tixati, I found last week, the icon had disappeared from the notification area of my screen. The icon has the context menu right click and it is BIG miss now.

I uninstalled the program and updated it to the December 2015 version which is 2.31-1

Running Tixati again and the same problem; no icon in notification area.

I am running Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit AMD.

I find that I now have to go to the Process manager to close the program.

Thats ok, but is there a fix for this please?

Just in case, make sure that the relevant options are set as desired on "Settings -> User Interface -> Behavior ".

If so, could it be that the icon is simply hidden by some GUI option related with the notification area ? Sometimes even an accidental mouse click here or there could cause that kind of thing.

No notification icon on Ubuntu either. Since version 1.96, if I'm not mistaken...
