Could the load transfer page not appear until you click on it. What happens is if you are selecting a few torrents and in the middle this page appears and its disruptive.

Also as there is generally only a few files that we want could a select ALL, select LARGEST (as this often the one you want) or select NONE be put in.

You want Settings -> Transfers -> Files page "Auto Select files in new transfers" .. Above it, the textbox is the % of the largest file. If you want only 1 file you can reliably choose 99%, if you want to keep away "placeholders" 1% . . . default of 20% is there in case of smaller parts included in the same file, also keeping full-compendiums with only ignoring files 1/5 of the size.
