Ver 2.27 DHT Connectivity

by shag00 on 2015/11/20 01:44:49 PM
A strange issue, everything was fine with Tixati for DHT connections, in the DHT window status was green and running then 5-10 minutes later the status had changed to orange and was "started-unconfirmed incoming port". On the Home screen, the complete log shows:

[8:16:44 PM]  listening on tcp:192.168.xxx.xxx:64xxx
[8:16:44 PM]  listening on udp:192.168.xxx.xxx:64xxx
[8:16:44 PM]  listening on tcp:[::]:64xxx
[8:16:44 PM]  listening on udp:[::]:64xxx
[8:16:44 PM]  DHT > started
[8:16:50 PM]  startup complete
[8:16:51 PM]  downloading initiated >
[8:16:51 PM]  downloading initiated >

In addition, in the right hand side lower box the status is shown in green as Listening/OK (does this refer to DHT/UDP?)

In the Transfers window the first message was DHT: xxx nodes connected and this then changed to DHT: port unconfirmed

Why would this change without any apparent reason?

my DHT is OK.... the only time I see that happen is when my internet connections loses sync or my router is overloaded and drops the port-forwarding

After watching closely for a few hours the problem appears to be random, switching netween; on the DHT Page, Status of "port unconfirmed" and "running" and back again, then on the Downloads Page between "port unconfirmed" and "online (xxx nodes)" and back again.

is your router or modem getting hot and overheating/rebooting?  I had something like this happen before

No, it's a Tixati problem, other people have the same issue, see this post: http://forum.tixati.com/support/2039/

No, all you have so far is a second person that also has a broken network that isn't forwarding the port.

But of course, that proves it's a Tixati problem right?

Me and the other gazillion people that have a smooth running DHT must be a fluke.  Guess you don't need anyone's help.

Try looking at the DHT chart for your incoming queries.  It's on the bottom left, in blue (not green).  If you don't see very much coming in, your setup is broke.  There's no magic wand the devs can wave to fix your broken network and get those incoming packets through whatever roadblock there is.

and BTW it doesn't even matter, if you network is a little bit broken at times, the DHT doesn't even need an incoming port for it to work

and with udp hole-punching, the transfers will still get some incoming connections depending on your router

so even if your port isn't forward, you still may see some back and forth to unconfirmed...

OP your incoming port isn't working... check your router, some of them are flakey with the port-forwards

better yet, get rid of NAT entirely
