Is there a way to download an older version of Tixati?

I want to use tixati 1.8.6. Thanks you.

The way I did it was to search older version of Tixati on search engine. Found a website that had the version I wanted and downloaded it.

Then (WARNING ADWARE WILL BE AND MALWARE MIGHT BE INCLUDED), I carefully ran that install and carefully declined everything until the authentic installer window for Tixati appeared and I stopped there with that window still open.

I then searched the windows temp folder (start menu, search %TEMP%) until I found the real install file (making sure that anything else was Force Closed) and copied it to my download folder.

I then immediately Force Closed! the adware infused installer. This is the ONLY way to insure that no additional adware or malware can be quietly installed after clicking cancel!!!

I then safely proceeded with the authentic installation.

You can Force Close using the Windows Task Manager by locating that installer program, right clicking it and selecting End Process Tree.
Your anti-malware software may give you problems, but you are on your own with that.

This is NOT for the faint of heart or newbies.

Probably available on the web somewhere if you search for it, or you could torrent it. The filename you probably want is "tixati-1.86-1.win64-install.exe", or modify as necessary.

Whatever you do, DO NOT download tixati from anywhere else. This web site is the only safe place. No matter how careful you are, you are taking a major risk getting software from an unknown source.

It is simple to get any version of tixati, they are all stored at http://www.tixati.com/download/

You just need to add the file name for whatever version you want, for example:

Version 1.86 - Windows 64:
http://www.tixati.com/download/tixati-1.86-1.win64-install.exe

Version 1.86 - Windows 32:
http://www.tixati.com/download/tixati-1.86-1.win32-install.exe

You can get ANY version by changing those numbers in the link.

Is there an obvious way for a user to locate those files at the http://www.tixati.com/download/ address that I'm missing? I tried pulling the file that way myself at first via the above "Download" hyperlink, but it just resulted in a 404 error after modifying the URL: http://download1.tixati.com/download/tixati-1.86-1.win64-install.exe

Assuming there isn't already an obvious way, it could be useful to host a link to older versions to prevent people from having to resort to pulling the files from elsewhere, short of being aware of the above method.

Look at the reply previous to yours. You almost had it right, but replace download1.tixati.com with www.tixati.com.

Download1 does not have extremely outdated versions on it, but www has all of them. Just change the numbers in the download link, AND change the download1 into www.

There is also a channel "Tixati User Group" (link below), where one of frequent users shares plenty of old Tixatis, including a lot of zipped portable versions.

Yeah, I see that. I couldn't find a direct link to the 1.86 binary on this site when I tried due to that URL problem meaning I had to resort to posting magnet links, as in the 3rd post above. Now I know where I went wrong so won't make that mistake again in the future. But, others will if there is no obvious link to older versions of the client, should they desire to use them. This then leads to the problem of people having to source binaries from 3rd-party locations, often with pitfalls, as mentioned in the 2nd post above. So, just to be clear, what's needed here is a direct link on this site to those binaries to avoid these problems in the future.

I have run into a like problem to retrieve v. 2.16.

Trying to type in a long string with dashes and whatnot just leads to many 404 errors.

Please give the direct link.

It should be easy to add these to the main download page.

I checked with oldversion and they haven't gotten one since 1.74.

@loninappleton: What problem are you having that you want to downgrade? Is there a new setting you can't figure out?

If you really want to, it is pretty easy to go to the download page and figure out how to change 2.25 in the url to 2.16. Right click, copy link, paste link into address bar, change TWO numbers, hit enter. How hard is that?

Can anyone say for sure that Tixatii torrents created under 1.96 (System 32) (which I still have the installer for) can be loaded onto a Win7 x64 edition of the program?

Also, If I just install the 1.96 will it take out 2.25 completely but save settings and not have to use a program like Revo Uninstaller to avoid conflicts?

I'm just rolling over the operating system on my small homenet after relying on XP to handle my torrents, some of which have been going for years.

Yes the torrent files and config files are compatible between versions. You can upgrade and downgrade freely without using the uninstaller.

But it is not wise to downgrade. Better to figure out your actual problems, the newer versions are way better.
