Eureka Moment!  Slow Incoming Speed Mystery Solved!

by JWvL_software on 2015/10/22 03:23:10 PM
Bless the developers, they have chosen to display everything in "Bytes". This may be evident to most but not all.

If the devs would please change this to "bits", by default, and later modified in the settings, the true sizes of the display would make total sense to everyone and allow us to be thrilled at the actual speeds.

375 KBytes would then be displayed as 3,000 Kbits Outgoing

and miraculously!!!!

5500 MBytes would become 44,000 Mbits Incoming!!!

This of course is how bandwidth is displayed by isps, and pig headed minds, like mine, understand the world of the internet.

It really took forever for me to see this very simple fact. Sorry for all the slams, but despite several vague attempts to make this clear, it took this detailed, but simple, a perspective for me to see this clearly.

I hope this is now taken in the true humility that I am trying to explain it.

Thank You,

JWvL

P.S. until then, if one of the mods can please pin a condensed version at the top of the forum it would immediately answer the question in the future.

Of course if the display in bottom status bar, and anywhere else, could just be changed from:

5MB to 44Mb Out

Seeing as that's where the real confusion is, then that would be the simple fix!

Thanks,

Sorry, very tired now.

I of course meant:

IN: 44Mb
