Proof Optimization is Broken!!!    🔒

by Guest on 2015/10/21 04:58:09 AM
Everything I do that your site says for me to do actually is oppisite of what actually happens.

I entered the information, first the default and raised the outgoing throttle to 26 to make the incoming gate of 10 Mbps correct but it still continually increases my outgoing to the edge of my full band of my full bandwidth but keeps lowering my incoming to less than 1/3 to 1/4 of my full outgoing bandwidth.

Conclusion something is very wrong in your calculations that maxes out outgoing and totally squashes incoming.

I did briefly have 8 Mbps for 3 minutes after latest update 3 days ago. Had no limitation besides Trade vs Seed, but has slowly dropped to less than 2.5 Mbps. Then started the limiter method but you can see the log showing exactly reversed results. Played around with the settings but still no change in the actual incoming bandwidth usage. I have several high seeder/peer torrents that have very high bandwidth allocation, but is not reflected in you outputs.

I have gotten the same results without auto limiter and the check boxes for the now greyed out for in/out settings.

Bandwidth:
 Outgoing: 8012 Mbps = 11446 Kbps
 Incoming: 545 Mbps = 778 Kbps

Login in used to be automatic with my password manager! Now I have to copy and paste my info several times before it ac
knowledges me. Thus the guest login.

Further comments I have for the umpteenth time tried manually set my bandwidth and all I get is higher and higher outgoing with almost no increase in incoming bandwidth.

Set Max Out the this setting, increasing caused it to drop so I put it back here still mo real improvement.

After it settled:

Regardless of the slight tweaking up or down by 5 Kbps it still fluctuates of average between 1-2.5 Mbps incoming!

No Limits it at least peaks between 3-3.5 Mbps but only averages about 2.25 Mbps.  No Browsing, no other downloads, just tixati.

Also I have tried multiple times to get the outgoing stable but never can get incoming near stable.

Turn the auto limiter back on and immediately gated (right) out at 624 Kbps and throttled out to 3.96 Mbps.

Again Backwards!!!!

Reset Rules to default standard and I am am even more throttled in.

Will update again after leaving settings for 24 hours.

wow, that sure was a long post

First, the optimization page doesn't say anything about using the auto-limit, SO TURN THAT OFF.  At least for now.

More importantly, I think you are mistaking your units, mixing bits and bytes per second.

The optimizing page has a conversion table you need to look at a bit closer.

Tixati throttle uses KB/s, kilo (thousand) bytes per second.

So let's look at your information at bit closer and walk through the advice on the optimizing page:

Your speed test results say about 60Mbps incoming, 4Mbps outgoing, both these are in million bits per second.

So divide by 8 to turn this into mega (million) bytes per second, so we get 7.5 MB/s incoming, 0.5 MB/s outgoing.

Lets convert MB/s into KB/s by multiplying by 1000, so we get 7500 KB/s incoming, 500 KB/s outgoing

The advice on the optimizing page says to use about 75% of your capacity.

FINAL RESULT>>> Set your incoming throttle to 5500, and outgoing to 375.  TURN YOUR AUTO-LIMIT OFF.

That is it, your throttle is set correctly.  And your screenshots show Tixati is utilizing your bandwidth just fine.  Nothing is "broken".

If you really want to try the auto-limit, it also appears to be working just fine.  In your screenshots it seems to want to set the outgoing limit in the 500s, which is just about right for your connection.  The incoming limit is simply a ratio of the outgoing limit, which defaults to 7x outgoing, but you can adjust this in the advanced auto-limit settings, and would get a bit more outgoing bandwidth if it was set to 15x since your outgoing capacity is so small relative to incoming (7500 divided by 500 equals 15).

Again to ward of the nay sayers:

No Firewall, No Antivirus,

I even lost most internet for a minute and it rapidly skyrocketed my outgoing to max but throttled my incoming immediately and then set it to this normal dismal throttled output. When I download via any other means I get file dl speeds 7-9 Mbps.

Ports in my router configured correctly:

Again Full Outging, severely throttled incoming:

Again I will let it stabilize for a day and display my results.

Thank you for the kind quick reponse,

More importantly, I think you are mistaking your units, mixing bits and bytes per second.

http://i.imgur.com/dgZ9djb.png

64.10*125/.7 = 11446.42857142857 Kbps right?
4.36*125/.7 =  778.5714285714286 Kbps right?

so apparently I can't read:

64.10*125*.7 = 5608.75 Kbps
4.36*125*.7 =  381.5 Kbps

So again manually is set to virtually the same speed prior to tweaking and set to no limiter with virtually no change:

http://i.imgur.com/uqkoQrl.png

Any ideas?

P.S. Tried limiter on standard settings. Now apparently I have no ping-able host so forced to again remove the limiter.

v1.8? I has consistant 7-8 Mbps after that I have been stuck no matter the tweak.
by Guest on 2015/10/21 11:04:36 AM
P.P.S.  My max bandwidth increased from 50 Mbps to 65 Mbps and upload from 3 to 4.5 Mbps since the 1st version.

Still, what gives.

I also tried reverting (before my primary laptop went to the shop to have it's screen replaced) to that version and it jumped to 6.5 Mbps consistently immediately without changing any settings.  This laptop which is 7 years old is running no better than the other laptop with v1.21 on it. This one bumped after v2.3 to 8 Mbps for just 3 minutes and reverted back to 2.5 consistently. My max output was restricted to 380 Kbs before applying the newly calculated 382 Kbps after reverting the settings to post K instead of M for outgoing.

and yes this is still JWvLsoftware, just was booted but didn't realize I needed to log back in.

Apparently despite thinking I had fast internet speed, I am slow as molasses.

Here's the new norm:

After further testing it reach 4 MB then settled between 1.5 and 2.25 MB Incoming.

http://i.imgur.com/9GpRR7N.png

So why the much better initial incoming only to settle down even lower?

Last one for now:

Sorry then Tixati actually froze for 2 seconds:

just do exactly what the optimizing page says:

FIRST, TURN OF YOUR AUTO-LIMIT.  I REPEAT, TURN OFF YOUR AUTO LIMIT.

NEXT, SET YOUR INCOMING THROTTLE TO 5500, and YOUR OUTGOING THROTTLE TO 375

That is all.  You are making a fuss over nothing.

Did you not see the part where the guy says explicitly, TWICE, to turn off your auto-throttle?  Yet there it is in your screen shot, turned on.  And you don't even have the other ones set up to the recommended numbers...  of course your incoming gets hurt when you have your outgoing set to 500+ and IT SHOULD BE SET TO 375.

Set the outgoing to 375, turn the auto-limit OFF, and you are done.  Pls don't post another screenshot unless it shows the auto-limit off and outgoing set to 375 and incoming set to 5500.
