Tixati and Windows 10

by MC_NL on 2015/09/03 12:23:24 PM
Does anyone have any experience with installing Tixati on a Windows 10 machine?

Of all the things I've read about Windows 10 and its anti-piracy features, it seems like it won't be possible to use torrent clients on Windows 10.
I haven't installed Windows 10 yet on any machine of mine, but a friend has and cannot get any torrent client working.

Are there any plans to crack this problem?

My suspicion is that Microsoft have somehow implemented a torrent protocol block into Win10. Maybe in the registry.. I dunno.

I'm running Tixati on Windows 10 with zero problems.

And you haven't noticed any throttling issues or speed differences from when you were running Tixati on previous versions of Windows?

No Windows 10 is not blocking torrents, No Windows 10 is not throttling torrents, no nothing has really changed from 8.1 to 10 in regards to torrents at all.

And that article/s claiming those anti-piracy features were a bunch of bull.

There's still an issue for me, since last update I can no longer use magnet links opened from the Win10 built-in Spartan browser, yet from browsers like Opera magnets will work as intended.

Magnet links are working fine here with Spartan/Edge and tixati, are you sure it is not just something simple like an association fail?

Since upgrading to Win 10, Tixati still works but I am stuck in the 'details' tab, I cannot change to another tab. I am on version 2.16.

Windows 10 and Tixati are working perfect together. I can open magnet links from Edge/IE/Nightly/Chrome. And its fast, really fast. The only improvement I can think of is to make the UI fit in better with Win 10 aesthetics.

Within Windows 10 you will need to run your Torrent client as 'administrator'

Windows 10 and Tixati here, no problem whatsoever!
Completely disabled UAC in registry, no need to run as administrator then

While it is possible to run Tixati on win 10 (for now), why would you want to?

Did you ever stop to think why Micro$oft is pushing win 10 so hard and giving it away for free?

Free can be very expensive! It can cost you dearly.

Microsoft Admits Windows 10 Automatic Spying Cannot Be Stopped

Note that after install, M$ is using automatic windows updates to add new spyware and increase its power over you and your computer. They have decided they will be your net nanni and are marching lockstep with Homeland Security to make the world safe for claimed "intellectual property" - DRM on steroids...and you can't stop them if you choose to run win 10.

Do some research - and learn linux. Tixati runs well on Linux
