Automatic Copying of Seeding Files to Another Location

Hi,

This is a Feature Request (personally I think it would be better if Tixati had a separate forum section for Feature Requests).

I use a ramdisk to download into and seed torrent files from (ramdisk label is "X:\"). I do this because running torrents is very demanding on a hard-drive. Over the years I've had hard-drives showing multiple failures on partitions used for downloading and seeding torrents from.

In the "Local Files" settings of Tixati I have the following:

Default Download Location = X:\Torrent Incoming
Upon completion, move to this location = X:\Torrent Seeding

What I would like is the capacity to make another setting:

"Copy Files From Seeding To" = "a location on the hard-drive"

Basically how this should work would be as follows:

1) A torrent that is downloading goes into the 'Incoming' folder on the ramdisk.
2) When the torrent downloading into the Incoming folder is completed it gets moved to the 'Seeding' folder on the ramdisk.
3) As soon as the torrent is written into the 'Seeding' folder Tixati makes a *copy* of those files into a location elsewhere of the user's own choosing on the hard-drive.

I hope what I've written is clear. As it stands I have a script that can automatically do this but it's not an ideal solution because it checks the 'Seeding' folder *all the time* and cross-references the contents of the 'Seeding' folder against the location and contents that the copies are made to on the hard-drive - in other words, it is doing the same check *over and over again*. It would be much better if Tixati could do this copy from ramdisk to hard-drive itself, and do it *once* for each completed torrent as soon as the torrent is moved into the 'Seeding' folder as so into the seeding queue.

I am in favor of this suggestion.  I have Tixati set up to seed until a ratio of 4.0.  Since I have upload capability of 10 Mbits, I would be happy to seed up to 10 or so.  However, I eventually run into a storage space problem so it would be helpful if I could move 'seeding' files to a different drive and have Tixati continue seeding from there.  My PC runs 24/7, so I am quite happy to seed a lot, but  I run out of room on my torrent drive. I download close to 700Gbytes a week.  I have a slower terabyte drive that would be perfect for seeding if Tixati would add an additional folder location for seeding.

To the second Guest. Use Categories, you can set a separate downloading and seeding location for each category. Tixati will move files when you add transfers to a category, with seeding location set to another drive. Another method is to move transfers to another drive manually by Right Click > Local Files > Location > Move. By default there are a list of last used locations there to help you out. You can pre set a list of locations of your choice instead (Settings > Transfers > Locations > Location shortcuts in transfers context menu).
