I download a lot of large torrents (around 10 GB) and I have a problem, which is that whenever I turn on my computer and Tixati gets started automatically it has to check these torrents (btw, these are all downloaded via magnet link, if that makes any difference), and this is just tremendously taxing on the computer.

It only checks them one at a time, but it slows my computer down to a crawl and you can hear the HDD churning HARD. This goes on for a long time until its checked the torrent, or multiple torrents, if I have multiple.

Is there any way around this?

It is not supposed to check torrents on each start afaik.
Is tixati closed the right way?
Have you tried to close it manually before shutting down the computer?

You're right, I didn't realize I'm supposed to turn Tixati off before shutting the computer off.
