Tixati somewhat unresponsive when Download speed is too fast?

by Guest on 2015/05/28 07:49:04 AM
Hi, is there a reason Tixati becomes unresponsive when download speed is too fast? It gets worse if I'm downloading more than one file, let's say two files both downloading at 15mb/s.

if there are a lot of peer connections and/or small pieces there could be some overhead as the torrent speeds up. or maybe it is taking too much of your bandwidth and that is lagging your computer.

try auto-limit or cut your incoming a bit and see what happens.

How can I fix Tixati to be able to handle fast speeds? My bandwidth is fine, I should be able to download 10x that speed and downloading from other sources, such as FTP or direct download using my web browser and such causes no issues for my computer.

Perhaps you're downloading faster than your hdd can read/write.  This can lead to excessive cpu usage.

Since torrents are downloaded in small chunks it's easy for a HDD to overloaded with high speed downloads.

Hard Drives are pretty fast at writing a single large file to the drive but are much much slower with lots of small pieces.

This is also a symptom when viewing Peers / Pieces tabs... the GUI updates are lagging.

If perhaps we can change a GUI.update option, we may be able to remove some of these symptoms, since it's not technically a bug. But not everything needs to be updated every second.
