downloaded latest version , however downloads are now hanging at the  "fetching meta-info" point. Anine have any ideas?

Give us some "meta-info" on your query, so that we don't "hang" on the reply...

- What version or client were you using before, and did the same happen with it as well ?
- Is it happening on all torrents or just one (or a few) specific torrent(s) ?

It hangs for me as well. I reinstalled it (the 32-bit version) and it hangs as soon as I press the "add" button. I could produce some callstacks if I had the PDB.
