Tixati 2.11 for me makes BSoD

by AssassinLV on 2015/04/21 05:48:05 AM
Well, when I reinstalled Windows and installed the Tixati 2.11, I got one issue: "0xDEADDEAD", It was happening each time when some downloads were almost finished or finished....

Now to stripe out any other reason that could make the BSoD, I downgraded Tixati to 1.99.....

@Developer, I think you should have in Download page an option to select the older version (in case of such happenings...)

here is decoded error info:

sounds like your drivers or kernel is the problem.

Driver is OK - I were using it for 2 years.... As I told I reverted tixati to 1.99, and so far (1 day) there was no crash (yestarday it 2.11 crashed twice (as it can be seen)) - so yeah → I am forced to use 1.99 (if I don't want to have BSoD)

@Guest, the crashdump shows the driver that made crash, but not the application that used the driver... with my little debugging - I made clear that Tixati 2.11 makes BSoD...

Edit: Day after tomorrow (if tomorrow won't be crash) - I'll update Tixati to 2.11 → and if there will be crash as yestarday (0xdeaddead) → then we'll know for sure that Tixati 2.11 makes for me BSoD...

Intel wifi/network drivers are outdated and you are missing windows updates. BSOD will go away with proper updates, this is a known issue and a common complaint with intel wifi drivers. ALSO will note that this crash usually is triggered when the chip on the wifi dongle/onboard chip/etc. crashes due to overheating, so i'd check the temp of the dongle/chip next time it happens.

do you have antivirus running? that could be your problem.
by AssassinLV on 2015/04/22 07:06:22 PM
Well - visibly it's not Tixati that causes the crash - now I'm via DeskUpdate updating my WiFi driver to never one...

If you have a BSOD, your computer's hardware or OS are certainly the issue. You said it yourself that you just reinstalled Windows. More than likely a driver problem, or a faulty component.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this.

I've had 0 BSODs in the last year since building my system. It's rock solid stable.

Upgrade tixati and got 3 BSODs in a day, and two Tixati crashes and error reports.

I tested memory for 8 hours, Prime95 on the CPU for 4 hours, nothing else was installed, modified or even downloaded that day. I have Adblock plus and Ghostery so nothing snuck in. No Windows updates either.

Conclusions? Tixati is a probable cause.
