I live in US and recently switched to Comcast from Verizon.

My problem is that ever since I switched to Comcast, whenever I open Tixati to download shows and etc., My internet drops and goes back up repeatedly until I close the torrent.

Browsing the internet is fine but it only happens whenever I open the torrent.

I searched the web and it seems like the problem is ISP itself and I have to limit my peer connection or the download speed.

When I had Verizon, I have never had this issue and downloaded the files fairly quickly. Did anyone experienced similar situation? If so, what did you do to help solve this problem?


P.S. My Verizon internet had 50mbp download speed while my current Comcast has 25mbp speed

P.S.2. Will getting a VPN solve this without putting any limits on download speed or peers?

P.S.3. I will be getting a new dedicated modem and router instead of Comcast provided one; will this help out in anyway?
