I have v.196 and am presently trying to download a movie.  the start button is greyed out.  I tried stopping it, waiting, then restarting.  no success.  I have no idea what to do.  kindly hep

Did you select the item in the list first?

Meaning, either that torrent has no seeders with 100%, or they aren't seeding right now, or there is a tracker error that prevents you from receiving the torrent. Right ?
